Which Formula Do I Need?
X-O comes in two formulas. Choose X-O Odor Neutralizer for any odor neutralizing job. Choose X-O Odor Neutralizer Plus Cleaner if you will need cleaning power in addition to deodorizing (such as carpet spots, pet stains, etc.) We offer both formulas in ready to use spray bottles as well as concentrates that mix with standard tap water. The X-O pet label formula is identical to X-O Odor Neutralizer Plus Cleaner.

It's 4:1. Mix four ounces of X-O Odor Neutralizer to one gallon of water for
large jobs. To mix a 16oz spray bottle from concentrate, use 2 ounces of X-O to 14 ounces of water.

Is there any danger to pet birds like I've heard of with
other odor neutralizers?
No. X-O doesn't have any toxic chemicals so using X-O in the same room with your bird
is fine. However both bird and reptile respiration systems can be sensitive, so it's
best to remove your pet from his cage if you're going to clean it with X-O (which
is just common sense).

Is there any smell or odor that X-O will not destroy?
Only one: formaldehyde and volatiles which continually re-emit odor. X-O will remove the odor, but it will come back
due to its chemical composition. Hopefully that's not your problem odor! However you can hold the odor at bay by continuing to treat it. Otherwise, X-O is a once-and-done treatment.

How do I use X-O?
For airborne
odors like onions or burned cooking smells, spray X-O Odor Neutralizer directly
in the air of the room. For odors that are coming from things such as urine
stains or diaper pails or grease spills, spray X-O directly on the problem area.
For fabrics, spray directly or toss them in the wash with several capfuls of
X-O. For large scale odor neutralizing and cleaning, mix X-O®
into a gallon pail and wash floors, tub & shower, counters - anywhere you'd
use a general cleaner like Lysol or Pinesol. Soak a cotton ball in X-O and use in your refrigerator to catch food smells instead of baking soda, or soak a paper towel in X-O, place in a cup and set out in a room where people are smoking. See our page on the Uses of X-O for more problem-solving

How does X-O work?
Have you ever noticed how clean it smells after it rains? X-O replicates nature's
own cleaning process. Nature uses rain and wind mixed with trees and plants (botanicals) to filter the air. X-O's principle

Why does X-O have a scent?
The fresh citrus smell comes from essential oils in X-O and also helps you track
where you've sprayed X-O. The scent dissipates quickly, as soon as X-O dries
- which is the point at which the odor disappears.

How much X-O should I use?
Unlike some other products, you do not need to saturate a stain or odor problem
with X-O for results. That's overkill and not recommended for best results. Unless
you are trying to get X-O onto the root of a problem such as a pad underneath
carpet, it's unnecessary. Of course if you can still smell the odor, you haven't used enough. Retreat and allow to dry (essential for the odor elimination process).

My X-O turned cloudy, is it still OK?
Yes. X-O's formula may appear to be clear, cloudy, or milky depending on the
weather. These changes don't affect X-O's effectiveness. However, if your X-O
is ever brown then the organic component has turned and should be replaced. This is very unusual as
there is no expiration date on X-O, and it should last indefinitely.

it contains no alcohol.

Is it OK to put X-O into another spray bottle?
Yes, but it must be a PET 1 plastic bottle. X-O's organic ingredients react to certain plastics. The bottle we use is
specially chosen for its non-reactiveness. Changing X-O's bottle type can nullify
the formula and/or produce an unpleasant smell.
